“La commode”

Inspired by the constructive logic of Japanese sashimono, this piece reinterprets traditional joinery through a refined contemporary and industrial language. Sheets of chrome steel and dark grey wood are assembled through precise interlocking joints that eliminate the need for visible hardware, allowing the structure itself to become the defining aesthetic gesture of the object.

Minimal yet architectonic, the composition explores the balance between lightness and solidity, reflection and opacity. The mirrored surface of the steel subtly interacts with its surroundings, while the voids between planes become as significant as the material itself. Timeless, multifunctional, and quietly sculptural, the piece exists somewhere between furniture and spatial object — a study in precision, tension, and contemporary elegance.
